FIBA has confirmed that the next window in the Australian Boomers’ qualification campaign will be hosted at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, the Philippines.

The match-ups against Syria on 28 August and Jordan on 30 August will be played at the neutral hub alongside four other fixtures as the nations compete in the newly formed Group E.

As witnessed during the recent Boomers v Gilas match in Perth, the Philippines is a passionate basketball nation with a rich history in the sport. The gathering in the nation’s capital is expected to create a festival-like atmosphere from 28–30 August.

Neighbouring nation New Zealand will join the Boomers in the Manila window, alongside Gilas, which progressed from the first round to join Jordan, Syria and Iran.

To qualify for Qatar 2027, the Boomers will need to finish in the top three of their group, with six matches to be played, comprising two each against Jordan, Syria and Iran.

The best fourth-placed nation across Groups E and F will also progress, with a total of seven qualification places available.

Host locations for the following windows, beginning in November 2026 and February 2027, will be confirmed at a later date.
